Hi! I’m Kait. I’m a mental health therapist who enjoys working with all ages, specifically teens and up, though I do work with a select amount of children with ADHD, trauma, and self-esteem concerns. I obtained my Masters in Social Work with a focus in Mental Health and Addictions in 2021 from Indiana University. I enjoy working with folks who have ADHD, mild to moderate substance use concerns, people who are going through life transitions, folks who have concerns with self-esteem, and those navigating anxiety, grief, and depression.
As someone who wasn’t diagnosed with ADHD until adulthood, I am passionate about providing care to children, adolescents, and adults with ADHD, especially those diagnosed later in life. My own history with depression and anxiety stemming from undiagnosed ADHD and associated issues has created within me a desire to provide therapeutic care to this population. I have also become passionate about harm reduction and working with folks to reduce or eliminate substance use, as well as assist folks in maintaining recovery and improve their relationship with substances.
I take a person-centered, trauma informed, and strengths approach to therapy, allowing the client to experience a safe and comforting space to explore their thoughts, behaviors, and feelings. Utilizing a strengths approach, I believe it’s important to incorporate the clients strengths and interests into sessions. I also incorporate components of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I enjoy working collaboratively with clients to come up with solutions, build self-image, manage life transitions, and improve overall quality of life. Therapy can be daunting, and it’s brave to even consider starting. I understand this, and keep this in mind in our work together in an effort to foster a low-stakes environment that allows for healing. I am a neurodiverse and LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist.
